The conception of Digital Earth has been accepted by more and more country today. Fast progress in the field of earth observation technology makes for space image become most important data source for Digital Earth. Three-line-array CCD stereo imaging is a new generation of space stereo mapping technology. It described an on-board stereo image processing system suitable for the requirement of earth observing system with three-line-array CCD camera, at the same time discussed the key techniques used in it. In the last place it presented a successful application used for the new generation stereo mapping micro-satellite.The architecture of on-board stereo image processing system is composed of three parts. The first is data capture witch answer for the pick-up of pixel data output from CCD camera. The second is framing and encoding witch transform pixel data to stereo picture-pair. And the third is solid-state store witch record the stereo picture-pair.This thesis is provided in four chapters. Chapter 1 and chapter 2 describe base knowledge, chapter 3 discusses key techniques used in on-board stereo image processing system, and chapter 4 focuses upon the successful application.
