| The concrete faced rockfill dam is regarded as an important type of dam in the hydraulic construction field because of some advantages such as: small section, good safety and convenience of construction. Though it was applied in China lately, it had a rapid development. It is widely used in all kinds of hydraulic electric projects, and lots of experiences of design theory, construction organization, project observation, maintenance and operation were accumulated.Construction and operation of the concrete faced rockfill dam which is located in the cold area differs from others because of special conditions. More attention should be paid on wear, seepage material and frostbite prevention during the design and construction process. Adaptability of dam filling with season and coordination among construction diversion, flood discharge and the whole construction schedule should be taken into consideration.The choose of dam site, layout of the multipurpose project, design of concrete faced rockfill dam, construction and prototype observation are covered in this paper. |
