The paper summarized the present situation of numerical simulation on hydrodynamics. Based on contemporary viewpoints about turbulent theory, the complicated flow structure in the cone-shaped valve absorption pond is qualitatively analyzed. And a mathematical model of lengthwise section of the pone is built:The above mathematical model is dispersed by the finite-volume method(FVM), the dispersed equations are achieved:The Alternating Direction Implicit(ADI) is applied to solve the above dispersed equations, at the same time, the relax is applied. Let therelax factors of the momentum equations are equal to 0.5, the relax factors of the turbulent kinetic energy equation and the turbulent dissipation equation are equal to 0.4. the method of pressure adjust (Method of Primitive Variables) is applied to calculate the pressure. The factor of pressure adjust is 0.8. the grid system is the Staggered Grid. The solid wall is treated by Law of the wall. The surface of the pond is treated with the assume of hard cover, for the fluctuation of th surface is very little. And the turbulent flow in the exit is assumed that it has been balance. According to the specialty of the cone-shaped valve absorption pond, the item of diffuse and the item of source are treated by relax in the process of simulation. The analysis shows the flow structures in the pond are not only related with the velocity of flow, angle of jet and the size of the entrance and so on, but also are related with the size of the pond. The elementary flow structure is a mixed structure of the main jet section and the swirl software. The boundary section is a strong turbulent cut section. The main jet mainly dissipates the energy in this section.The numerical simulation validates that the flow tongue of jet is helpful to dissipate the energy of water.It also proves the effect of dissipating energy is better.At the last, the paper has a discuss about the best jet angle and the reasonable size of the cone-shaped valve absorption pond.
