As a new energy-saving equipment, the Tubular Heat Exchanger with Longitudinal Flow of the Shellside fluid (THELFSF) has many remarkable advantages. It betters anti-vibration and anti-smudge performance, enhances heat transfer efficiency, and decreases the shellside pressure loss. It also prolongs service lifetime, reduces the weight and saves material.On the basis of total structure of THELFSF, we optimized the structure of the THELFSF systemically, worked over the new type structure of THELFSF. It proves that heat transfer efficiency of THELFSF is very high through applying it in practical industry. Comparing with the traditional baffle heat exchanger, the shellside synthetic heat transfer performance a / A p is increased by about 50 percent, the weight of the equipment is decreased by 20-40 percent. The THELFSF has been applied in more than 200 production companies, and gained notable society and economic benefits.The application of advanced computer technology can be used to accomplish the automatization from technics design to engineer design so as to popularize the application of THELFSF. That is to say, heat exchanger with outstanding performance can be designed, drawing can be protracted automatically and data related to the design can be output by inputting a small quantity of technics parameters. Thus, energy can be saved, expenditure invested in the equipment, the design quality and efficiency of the equipment can be enhanced, exploitation new production cycle can be shortened and engineers can be broken away from repetition burdensome labour.Intelligent Computer Aided Design (ICAD) is an important direction to the development of CAD. It makes the theory and technology of Artifical Intelligence (AI) integrate with CAD. It also makes the computer has the capacity of supporting design thinking, reasoning decision-making of human experts and imitating the way of thinking and intelligence of human. Thus it makes the automation of design to a higher administrative levels.On the basis of the research of the structure and function of the new4type of THELFSF, the actualities and trends of the THELFSF domestic and overseas technology of CAD, ICAD and its applying in the THELFSF, selects and uses the Expert System and the technology of CAD integrating with the design of heat exchanger, especially with the design of the new type THELFSF to research and develop the reasoning structure, full function, high automation, fine security and extension. The object is realization the integration and intelligentization design of process design, mechanical design, components design and assembly drawings design of the heat exchanger, This subsystem or module should run independently and integratively to furtherly improve the efficiency and quality of design. This paper mainly researches three contents as follows:1. This paper adopts the theory of software engineering to have analyzed and made layout of the ICAD system of the new type of NTHELFS. This paper discusses the total structure model of this ICAD system, and analyzes the logical relative and using rules of all modules in this system. These subsystems or modules should run independently and integratively, design standard components and non-standard components which are similar to the standard ones to some degrees. The control of system is used the way of classificatory menu, namely, under first menu including second menu. Inter-module is controlled by Windows message through multilevel interface, and in the center of module through the key words to control the branch and process. The input of all kinds of subsystems is adopted through two ways, one is that user input necessary information , the other is that according to the protocol of the system from others subsystems or submodule to succeed.
