Based on the development of electric vehicles( EVs ) industrial , this paper describes an ideal concept EV ,that is a EV has independent directly driven wheels (In-wheel EV). The research into drive systems concerns theoretical analysis and correlative experiment.Firstly, the research on the permanent magnet brushless in-wheel motors and vehicle dynamics used for this novel EV is presented. According to the characteristics of prototype PM brushless in-wheel motor , a predigest mathematics model of the motor based on it's general mathematics model is proposed. The correlative computer simulation and experiment are carried out. In other hand, the novel EV has no a differential gear , therefore, an electric differential system is needed. The manipulation performance of the novel EV with electric differential is analyzed by deeply research on vehicle dynamics performance .Secondly, a new In-wheel driven control strategy is proposed. To achieve the EVs favorable dynamics performance and energy saving performance for well road surface conditions, manipulation stability for special road surface conditions, the project which is the slip open control or slip close control is applied according to the various road surface conditions, meanwhile, the energy feedback break system is also designed in this strategy.At last, the correlative computer simulation and experiment on the whole system and each part validated the feasibility as well as the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
