With the development of automobile technology, computer technology and the wide application of advanced modern manufacturing technology, electronic technology and computer technology on cars, structure of cars becomes more and more complicated. The panel of cars has become the information center because of the increasing amount of information from various parts of cars. So panel manufactures work hard to develop new panels and enlarge the production. But, all the panel manufactures are facing a common problem - how to enhance the speed and accuracy of product debugging and demarcating for increasing production.The project is to develop a debugging system specially designed for the integrated circuit programme controlled speedometer and engine tachometer manufactured by Dalian University of Technology Auto Electronic Factory to realize debugging and on-line programming. The system contains two parts, hardware and software. The hardware circuit consists power module, keyboard module, display module, external memory, main and secondary single chip processor module using Z86E33 made by Zilog Company. The paper elaborates the hardware' s working principle and function and software' s design ideology and programming principle and then integrates the speedometer and engine tachometer debugging system. The system showed satisfactory result when tested by Dalian University of Technology Auto Electronic Factory. The error between program controlled data and actual data is acceptable.
