To solve the problems existing in the area of the test of infants' eyesight, we designed a kind of dioptometer to test infants' eyesight on the basis of the Patent of DiopHometer to Test Infants' Eyesight. The dioptometer, which generally met the requirement of commercial production, not only could display test symbols and control moving styles of test symbols by using LCDM, but also could monitor the eyes tested by making use of Digital Image Processing Technology.Firstly, a rounded analysis on the present status and problems existing in the area of the test of infants' eyesight was given. Based on the Patent of Dioptometer to Test Infants' Eyesight, we found out how to develop such an objective test device.In the part of test symbols' displaying, the crank-driven mechanical facility moving back and forth in the original patent was replaced by LCDM, which could display the test symbols, could control the moving styles and moving frequency of test symbols. According to the theory of geometric optical aberration, a set of lens was designed, which not only could meet the general requirement of the whole testing system, but also could correct optical aberration. Furthermore, the moving of infant's eyes could be detected by using Digital Image Processing Technology, which can provide theoretical and experimental foundation for the designing of the dioptometer.The results of simulation test gave a best illustration that this objective test system could meet the requirement of commercial production.
