High efficiency and energy saving rare earth permanent magnet synchronous motor (REPMSM) are importance approach to the problem that the cost of oil extraction in Chinese oil fields is too high and pulling small car with big horse at large in driving electromotor in pumping unit.In the dissertation, the research is focused on the design and exploitation for REPMSM in pumping unit in oil fields. There are four main parts in the paper, i.e.First of all, the dissertation studies the steady-state performance of REPMSM with the theory of vector graph and equivalent electro circuit. Characteristic of power angle, determinant of static of motor moving, losses and armature reaction are analyzed in this part. The two key parameters, back electromotive force (EMF) and reactance of d q axial armature reaction are investigated, too.In the process of asynchronous starting, mathematics model of REPMSM is established with 1, 2, 0 complex number coordinate system. Combined with the model, electromagnetic torque is studied. Character of electromagnetic torque is analyzed subsequently. The dissertation provides a practical method of calculating torque in the process of starting. The basic analysis of motor running into synchronization is worked in this part. The dissertation deals with the influence of parameters for motor starting in the end of this part.This dissertation provides the basic rules of design of REPMSM. And RSM160L-6 is designed in this dissertation.At last, the basic REPMSM parameters testing method is introduced. The results of RSM160L-6 demonstrated veracity of research work in this dissertation.
