Electro-Hydraulic Servo Loading System (EHSLS) simulates the aerodynamic torque acting on the rudders while flying. EHSLS can be used to create various types of loading on the rudders in the lab condition to analyze its performance. As an important part of hardware-in-the-loop simulation equipments, Advanced EHSLS can provide data needed for new types of missiles and aircrafts' design. As a typical force servo system, EHSLS can apply various load on the rudder during the experiments. It is a complex system of mechanics and electro-hydraulics. The research of EHSLS requires comprehensive knowledge of machinery dynamics, hydraulic, control and computer theory. It has gained great importance by scholars in and out of the country, and is at the head research of hydraulic servo system. The development of aero industry requires high-performance loading system, but now, the bandwidth of the equipment is only 8-10Hz.In this thesis an single channel electro-hydraulic servo system is designed to validate. compare and explore different control schemes on restraining Additional Torque inherent in force loading system. Also it is discussed how to improve loading performance and the actual results using Invariance Theory. By the feedforward signals of velocity and acceleration, it is expected to expend the bandwidth to 15Hz or even higher and reduce the additional torque at 80 percent.In this thesis, I mainly explored the design theory of EHSLS and made a lot of experiments on subsystems and the whole system. I used PID control technique to adjust the parameters. At last a summary of my thesis is made to the readers as follows:(1) Design the Electro-Hydraulic Servo Loading System (EHSLS) and the whole subsystems. Use the damping spring stick and PQ servo valve in the system.(2) Install and test of the electric subsystem.(3) Install and adjust the sensors of EHSLS.(4) Analysis the control models to deduce the Invariance Theory.(5) Write the code for computer control system. Debug the hardware and software.(6) Adjust the parameters by PID control theory.(7) Do experiments on EHSLS and analyze the data and results.It has been proved that the EHSLS is built successfully by experiments and the following result. The property of EHSLS has exceeded the design expectation. The bandwidth was finally expanded to 16Hz. The compounding feedforward control used velocity and acceleration signals is proved very effective in improving the system performance.
