With the great development of highway engineering in our country, especially in the middle and west part of China, the slope stability becomes more and more important as the highway construction in the mountainous area. This paper basis on the property of the slope of highway in the mountainous area, through a mass of practice of the slope engineering and data of technology, goes along synthesize analysis. Also put forward the scull of the slope of highway and analyzed the cause of formation and stress character and the slope stability assessment method of each type slope. On this base, put forward the synthesis technology of prevention and cure of slope. For the sake of analyzing the cause and develop of the slope nicety and uniformly, using the finite element method to simulate a highway slope excavation and reinforcement, it reaches the same conclusion as spot observation. Offering credibility gist of the fathering of highway slope in the mountainous area.
