The paper is chiefly about the improvement on Fiber Optical Gyroscope's(FOG) data collection and disposal system and the preparatory research on FOG's vibration characteristic. The latter is bases on the former, and is the emphasis of this paper.The FOG's vibration characteristic is the key index when FOG is used in practice. Having made reference to many interrelated literatures, we discussed the discipline of FOG's vibration characteristic in mechanical vibration theory and vibration modulation on waveguide.The paper also introduced the progress of FOG's data collection and disposal system, which is for the sake of analyzing and proving the discipline of FOG's vibration characteristic by experimentation.On the basis of various work mentioned above, we have carried out mass of experiments on FOG. In the last section of this paper, we have summarized and analyzed the results of experiments, and drawn some important conclusions.
