Hydraulic damper, a key component of the locomotive truck, together with spring, composes the spring-damper system. There are three kinds of dampers according to their positions and their effects on the truck, namely, horizontal damper, vertical damper and anti-hunting damper. The existing test criterion is to draw indicator diagrams. Most of the existing rigs are mechnical rigs. They have been found irrational. In this dissertation, the improved test method measures parameters such as damping characteristics and indicator diagrams by using closed-loop hydraulic control system.The three kinds of dampers are used to eliminate different vibrations. Based on the principle of flow continuity, the process of tension and compression was simulated and the process of vibration absorption was discussed. Damping characteristics and its main determining factors were analyzed. On the basis of the previous study, a test rig and its measuring and controlling system were designed. The modern technology of energy economizion was applied to the hydraulic system. The dynamic performances of the dampers were simulated and analyzed. Several different kinds of dampers were tested on the rig, and the results show the system has high reliability and profound utility value.In combination with the MC system, the development of real-time MC software such as raising Real-time property of software for process control, extending visit to hardware of computer and operating it, programming object-orient programmes and imposing DSP and anti-interference on strong interference source of DFC in Win32 was discussed.
