Three Transportation Planning Software Comparison Analysis

On the basis of understand on the famous transportation planning software-TransCAD, CUBE/TRIPS, EMME/2 which is applied broadly, this paper compares their characteristics. This paper compares their system circumstance, interface organization, modeling data organization and management, graph analysis functions and modeling functions, analyses the merit and defect of these software. TransCAD is better in interface organization and graph analysis functions; CUBE/TRIPS is better in modeling data organization and management; EMME/2 is better in editing functions. By applying the three software to the same transportation analysis, the paper compares their useability, use-easiness and agility, accordingly makes us know these software further. It has strong use for reference to the selector, user and developer of transportation planning software.
