Bus Priority Measures Impact Analysis

As a development strategy of urban traffic, Transit priority becomes a necessary choice to solve traffic jams in many cities of our country. The implement of transit priority presumes the broad application of transit priority techniques. But now, the studies about transit priority techniques are relatively lack, and which is mostly focused on the strategies study. Furthermore the application of transit priority techniques will consequentially impact the urban traffic in certain degree. Some of impacts are advantageous, but some is disadvantageous. How to analysis the impacts and get a balance between the advantage and disadvantage, is an impending problem.Hence, basing on the analysis on the composing of transit priority techniques, the paper studies the design methods for bus lines, bus stops and transit signal priority on emphasis. Where after the paper analyses the impacts and put forward an evaluation flow based on traffic simulation. Finally the models constructed in paper are used in an example analysis.
