Urban Road Intersections, Traffic Flow Simulation Studies

As the main part of research into Intelligent Transportation System, it is meaningfully important to study Traffic Flow theory. Both modeling and simulating the traffic flow are principal methods. For the research of traffic flow, models are basis of simulation, meanwhile, simulation carries out the realization of models. They are major objectives of this research. The achievements can be used to evaluate the present service of traffic system in the signalized intersection, and at the same time, to select among several schemes for the best before their being put into effect.In this article, I firstly establish the models of intersection, signal control and traffic flow, etc, by the analysis of the actual situation and characteristics of signalized intersection. Then, I give the programming of software which is on the basis of these models described. Lastly, the models are examined and software is illustrated by examples for explanation of its actual use.
