To improve the level of assembling locomotives and the service efficiency , to change the lagging situation of the detecting and diagnostic apparatus , to grope the method of reforming, especially after the speed of the locomotives are accelerated , because of some faults in the supercharging system , such as the deficiency of the inlet airflow, the reduction of the excess air parameter, which make the fuel oil not burn sufficiently, make the economy and power characteristics of the engines decrease , make the exhaust main burn to be red and rise black smoke, even make the armature overheated and rixed,all these make the rolling stock can't walk in the safe and accurate situation, to solve all these problems, a scheme based on fuzzy logical theory is presented which uses the microprocessor as the core of the characteristic instrumentation for the supercharging system on the portabld engine. This instrument gains the accurate judging status results of the supercharging system through measuring and blurring the temperature and the pressure of the voltage-stabilizer box, using the fuzzy synthetic judging method. By means of measuring the main technical parameters of all components of the supercharging system, we can diagnose the specific position and the cause of the faults. Then the operational department of the locomotive can do the service works definitely. This text demonstrates the overall plan of the apparatus and the detailed design of the hardware and software. In the part of the hard waes,we used the advanced 80C196 microprocessor as the core of the handling unit. We developed its function according to the need. So it can measure, analyze and record the relevant data automaticsally,then display, print and store the results. When designing the soft and hard wares and choosing the spare parts, we thought fully about the harsh environment of the rolling stock and took some effective measures. Through improving the ability of the apparatus, it has strong reliability and can work steadily in the electromagnetic environment. This apparatus's simple operation developed diagnosis theory and the accurate results make itself become the perfect equipment when performing the dynamic monitoring and diagnosing the supercharging systems without disassembling them. It has a lot of practical values. The diagnosis method and design thinking presented in this paper have some referential value to the people who conducting the work of detecting the diesel locomotives.
