In the design of breakwaters, seawalls, revetments, reservoir dams and other constructions to protect overtopping, slope profile dikes are always used. There are many researches relevant to this, but because of the complexity of the subject, physical model experiments are usually done to ensure the researches. For instance, in order to reduce the crest elevation of slope dikes, crown walls are often set to reduce run-up and overtopping. How to design crown wall to ensure the stabilization and satisfy the permissive overtopping is an important problem. In this paper, firstly, several kinds of typical crown wall which usually used are selected; secondly, by physical model experiments, the pressure on the crown wall coursed by wave and the overtopping of the dike is measured; at last, the specialty of different crown walls are presented and the relationship between stability and overtopping of different walls are discussed.
