Laser digital photofinishing is a brand new technology which laser source is exposed on traditional sensitive materials and the digital processing and controlling function of PC is utilized to realize non-film and total digitalized color text and random combination of graphics and pictures. This technology is widely used in various fields.This paper mainly introduces the fundamentals and basic solutions of the new output control system of laser digital photofinishing based on CPLD( Complex Programmable Logic Device) and expatiates on the specific design of each part of the whole system. Finally the rationality of the method is demonstrated with the results and waveforms of the experiments.This paper has five different parts. In the first part, the principles and the main developing trend of laser digital photofinishing system was introduced. In the second part, we focused on the solution of the project based on CPLD technology and the applications of the key devices in the system. In the third part, the functions and the realization of the modules of CPLD was described in detail. In the fourth part, the hardware and software design project of the system was introduced. In the last part, some experimental results were provided and we summarized the whole project and proposed the prospect.
