Micro flapping-wing aerial vehicle (FMAV) is the outcome of the application of the new materials and technologies, and quickly become a hot subject studied both at home and abroad because it has wide prospect in the military and civil field. But There are a great deal of key technology issues in overall to design. aerodynamic theory , resource of power. transmission and control system during studies. Synthesizing the current research situation both at home and abroad and developing research to the design of transmission of FMAV in this paper. It aims at high-efficient, low consumption, and lighter weight transmission system. Which will help to make an effort to improve the performances in flight of FMAV such as radius of the task, the effective load, a continuous journey time ect.. which can expand its applications. The main content of the paper as follows.There are significant changes in the moment of inertia and the center of gravity location for each stroke of wings. Based on the mass properties of each component of a flapping vehicle are generally measurable and constant we set up the corresponding equations of motion for flapping flight. The motion of the wings of a flapping vehicle is specified by parameters at the root of each wing. The angular positions of the wings relative to the body (three Euler angles) determine the relationship the system of coordinate of the wing to the body. The evaluation methods and step of the loading for the FMAV are set up so that these Euler angles can be specified to provide wing motions that generate the lift and propulsion for the vehicle.Combing the Happing wing sport characteristic of FMAV and analysing the design processes of two kinds of flapping wing movement way schemes (traditional mechanical drive way and new-type drive way) in detail. Carrying on network analysis according to organization's design method of concrete flapping wing, at the same time, providing mentality of designing, operation principles, characteristic parameters design, kinematics analysis and dynamics that the flapping wing organization designs and analysing the course. In addition. we put forward the general criterions that the flapping wing organization designs in the paper.Taking the research course of experiment prototype (PY-1) as example, the paper presents the steps includes: overall design of FMAV, flapping wing transmission mechanism design, manufacture and flight test. Sum up the basic flow chart for the designation and the methods & basis of the parameters selection. Secondly, referring to the performances of the experiment prototypes we presents the general appraise criterion for integrated performance of FMAV. At the same time, integrated the results of the typical experiment prototype flight test proved the evaluation criterions rational. Which testified integrated performances credible, and it can act as instruction criterions of FMAV.
