It was indicated by theories and experiments that as a new type spiral bevel gear transmission, double circular arc spiral bevel gearing has the advantage of higher load capacity, longer service live, smaller volume, lighter weight and higher transmitting efficiency etc. Therefore, more and more attention has been paid to its application and research in recent years.In this dissertation, first, based on theory of cutting tooth about the gleason spiral bevel gear and the characteristic of tooth profile, using the theory of differential geometry and W-N gearing, a cutting tooth meshing analysis about double circular arc spiral bevel gear was carried out, the equation of meshing in the process of cutting tooth, the surface equation of generating gear as well as the general tooth surface equation of double circular arc spiral bevel gear were obtained.Second, based on the work mentioned above and the simple two sides cutting method about the tooth profile, the installation parameters in cutting tooth process were computed, the parameters of the cutter position and cutter angle of both rough and refined process were also obtained. After choosing the U lines and V lines of the gear tooth surface, the equations of the U lines and V lines were imported into "Expression" by using the expression function of Unigraphics(UG) software and the U lines and V lines were drawn, thus, the grid model of gear surface was formed and the actual tooth surface was obtained by the grid model. Then the gear blank of the spiral bevel gear was drawn. A gear space was obtained by subtracting the tooth surface and the gear blank. As a result, the three-dimensional solid model of double circular arc spiral bevel gear was gained by rotating the gear blank some indexing angles and subtracting the gear blank and the surface.Finally, a tooth of double circular arc spiral bevel gear obtained by the method mentioned above was chosen as an analytical object. Through the connection port between UG software and ANSYS software, the tooth numerical model was imported into ANSYS from UG Six different face loads which were determined by the method about load distribution computation in paper[16] were applied to this model for the purpose of analyzing bending stress of the tooth, a series of conclusions about bending stress of the gearing were obtained.
