Product Configuration Management For Aviation Engines

At present, product configuration is almost completed by hand in aero-engine manufacturing enterprises. As a result, a series of problems such as disunity of product data, imprecision of configuration information and so on, have a serious effect on enterprises' manufacturing and production. Stepping from the actual requirements of aero-engine manufacturing enterprises, the thesis analyses carefully current existed problems in theories and applied researches of Product Configuration Management (PCM), and focuses on the research on model's build and realization techniques of product configuration. The key issues studied and conclusions deduced in the paper are as follow:1. By the analysis of the data structure of product object, the method that organizes product data by item or item revision is presented.2. A kind of product configuration unified model based on universal data resource is presented using Object-Oriented Modeling (OOM) approach. And it can provide the required information of product structure, product configuration and users in the process of product configuration.3. Based on the product configuration unified model, two kinds of product structure trees that are Generic BOM (GBOM) and imprecise BOM are presented.4. Centering around the above two trees, the thesis illustrates two effective configuration methods: configuration by variant conditions and configuration by revision rules. And then the techniques of configuration rules management and product structure mutiview conversion are researched.5. The product configuration system is built, and the practicability of the above theories is verified with examples.
