| Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) is more and more widely applied for its advanced and practicability. However, as a prevail but immature technology, RCM is misconstrued. Obstacle emerges during its implementation. So it is necessary to evaluate the benefits of RCM exactly. Firstly, this paper introduces the vicissitude of maintenance system and presents the status quo of maintenance system in electric industry. Then the paper analyses the effect of some aspects such as regulation, culture, social expectation, resource, and cooperation on the implementation of CBM or RCM in electric system. Thirdly, the paper brings forward proposal on how to implement CBM/RCM in electric industry, and talks about the necessity and approaches to recognize RCM more comprehensively. Also a more exact and reliable method to evaluate effect of RCM is put forward in the paper. Finally, this paper summarizes the efficiency and prospect of RCM. |
