RCM is Reliability Centered Maintenance. RCM is an advanced equipmentmaintenance system, and be increasingly valued and be promotion in the world in recentyears. It is a full consideration to the principle of economy, reliability, application logicdetermination method to determine the equipment preventive maintenance requirements,and combined with advanced equipment diagnosis technology service mode. It is the mostprominent feature in order to reduce the maintenance cost as a starting point, using the advanceddiagnostics, do everything possible to prolong overhaul cycle, reduce equipment down time andfailure frequency, make necessary improvement maintenance, optimize maintenance strategysystem, improve the utilization rate of equipment, and improve the overall economic and socialbenefits, has broad application prospects.This paper first reviews the development history of equipment maintenance, and thedevelopment of the theory of equipment failure mode, introduces the basic principles of RCM andseven basic problems, and general analysis steps. Compared with classical RCM and simplified RCM,and choose to application the Simplified RCM to radio frequency coaxial cable production line.Then as a sample, introduce the simplified RCM application to SF2834coaxial cable productionline. The whole implementation process can be divided into the following steps: One, systemselection and data collection; Second, define the system boundary; Three, system specification andfunction block diagram; Four, system function and system failure; Five, the failure mode and effectsanalysis (FMEA); Six, logical tree analysis (LTA); Seven, maintenance mode selection. And then todevelop the maintenance strategy and assign the related maintenance work, established themaintenance strategy, such as, on-condition maintenance, failure finding,redesign, and run tofailure. Eventually optimize the schedule maintenance cycle, improve the equipment utilization rateand stability, get a good economic benefit, and find the suitable maintenance management system for the company.
