CHIPIC is the first electromagnetism particle in cell (EM-PIC) code which isdeveloped by our country and it supplies a gap of this domain. Algorithm ofElectromagnetic field is a key module for CHIPIC code. Basing on theFinite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method, a series of electromagneticdifference equations under cartesian and cylindrical systems are given. And theelectromagnetic field algorithm is enhanced beyond these equations. The simulationresults of CHIPIC code are in accord with another famous EM-PIC code MAGIC.This proves that the electromagnetic field algorithm in CHIPIC is correct. Modulesand flow charts of CHIPIC code are introduced in this thesis then.Applying electromagnetism particle in cell method to simulate beam transportin a linear induction accelerator (LIA) is the first time in our country. Simulating byCHIPIC and MAGIC codes, many problems such as beam transport, accelerationfield, and matched magnet are solved. Finally, five acceleration units are simulatedsuccessfully, and the simulation results could be helpful to the experiments in LIAbeam transport. |
