The present article stated the general situation of'study on numeric emulating technology for foundry process by computer both here and aboard, pointed out the miss distance of the study on this aspect between China and other countries and analyzed the foundation, purpose and significance of this subject.On the basis of temperature field numeric emulating and combining with dynamic dividing technology of melting pool isolated region, this article used G/r1/2 method to predict possible shrinkages and dispersed shrinkages that may appear in solidification process.This article gave a brief introduction about the manufacture equipment and foundry technology of 41100QB diesels of YUNNEIDONGLI; analyzed the factors which influence the cylinder casting quality through statistic method according to rejection ratio data of cylinder body acquired from the production of past several years, pointed out that the main influence factors are sand dropping and blebs and took corresponding measures to control them respectively and got some good results.Computer numeric emulating technology for foundry process has been recognized as subject vanguard in the material forming field nowadays. How to use this technology to improve casting quality is becoming more and more important. This article chose the cylinder body casts and clutch housing casts as study objects, adopted their current producing technology and foundry technology, calculated their temperature fields during the solidification process. Then we compared the calculating results to the current producing results and found they were almost the same. This also verified that the current producing technology and foundry technology are mature.The contents discussed in this article supplied some theoretical basis for how to predict the trend of shrinkage porosity, shrink hole and heat cracking of casts during solidification by using computer to simulate the temperature fields duringcast's solidification; and could be used as theoretical and practical reference for enterprises to get a solution for how to adopt computer solidification emulating technology to improve and optimize foundry technology, improve cast quality, shorten trial-producing period of new products, reduce produce cost and improve enterprises' economic beneficial results.
