To improve the Infrared extinction capability of the burning anti-infrared smoke composition, the phenyl-hexachloride was taken the smoke generating and series of smoke composition formula have been designed in this paper. The infrared transmittance has been tested using multi-band infrared radiometer. The result showed that the metal oxide was superior to oxometallate as the oxidant in the formulation. Fe3O4, Fe2O3, TiO2 are good oxidant in burning smoke composition, some additive substance as fluoride, cesium compound can improve the extinction capability of smoke composition with olometallate as the oxidant in large scale, while do little to that of smoke composition with metal oxide as the oxidant.Infrared transmittance was also tested in the article when smoke composition granularity, density of powder charge , relative humidity ,mass of the raw materials per unit volume were different in formula.Smoke composition with rich carbon organic matter as the smoke generator was studied ,infrared transmittance of this formula can be decreased below 38% in spectral region of 814 μ m.
