Today,more and more fluctuant loads such as electric arc furnaces,rolling mills and welding machines are connected into electric networks,which causes the fluctuation and flicker of voltage,the imbalance of three phase power supply and some other problems of electric quality. Based on DSP and Steinmetz compensation theory,a type of TCR-SVC controller is studyed and designed in this paper.By testing,it is showed that this device can eliminate the fluctuation and flicker of voltage and improve three phase imbalance state effectively.A rapid response strategy is the theoretic core of the controller.Based on Steinmetz theory ,a new method that prevents reactive power over compensating is put forward to.At the same time ,this paper also bring forword a way to realize this method,that is we can collect current when corresponding voltages pass zero.The precision of calculation of delay angle of TCR-SVC influences the effect of dynamic compensation directly. In this paper the rational interpolation method is used as the calculation method for delay angle.The controller is made up of detecting module, controlling module,drive module,protecting module,display module,communication module and so on. Finally,this paper designs a low voltage SVC model with the load of welding machine which characteristic is similar to the electric arc furnace to check out the performance of the controller and the controlling theory.
