The development of Var compensation technology research and development in recent years is given in this paper international situation as well as the function which displays in the electrical network application, analyzed briefly has used in the balanced system the idle work compensator basic principle and the work characteristic. In has thoroughly analyzed in the symmetries compensation principle foundation, infers uses in SVC the digitized idle work compensation mathematical formula. The design of the PI controller is provided which aims to the nonlinear character of the system. According to the controlling circuit and the TCR circuit the mathematic model is established which can provide the academic gist for the design of PI controller. The two controlling methods are compared by simulating in SIMULINK environment of MATLAB software. The hardware control system based on industrial computer is designed, which includes sampling circuit, filter circuit, phase. Compensated circuit and so on. The program of the system is compiled and a prototype is made and tested. The simulation and experimental results show that the SVC with PI controller can compensate Var on real time for unbalanced load which has fleetly reaction, preferable controlling precision and robust character. In a word, the PI controlling method can be used in the project which is reasonable and advanced. In the end of this paper, the corresponding real waves with Var compensation are provided.
