In order to adapt to the new features of products, fulfill the specialized design of products and apply deeply CAD technology in corporations, it is very necessary to do advanced development on 3D CAD software. As one of the best popular 3D software, especially in machine area, Pro/ENGINEER has provided developed tool kit--Pro/TOOLKIT.When designers use Pro/ENGINEER to design parts, they usually face some similar parts, such as parts of solid of revolution. The program developed by Pro/TOOLKIT can add own intentions of designers and achieve automatic parts modeling, which can decrease the time of designing parts and increase the capability of human-computer interaction in the course of designing.This thesis pointed out necessity of automatic parts modeling and presented the key technologies and attention of creating Pro/TOOLKIT. At present there were three common methods of automatic parts modeling in Pro/ENGINEER, i.e. feature description, family table and UDF. For the peculiarities of parts of solid of revolution, this thesis selected feature description to achieve automatic modeling. This thesis introduced the course that realized interface between Pro/ENGINEER and MFC by Pro/TOOLKIT, the method that set include and library document of Pro/TOOLKIT application in Visual C++ and the principle that registered and run the application. Then this thesis discussed the course that realized human-computer interaction, which introduced the establishment function and method of menus and communication frame especially.This thesis introduced parts of the revolution solid automatic modeling realization process emphatically. First this thesis narrated the shaping principle of automatic modeling, analyzed the action, meaning and usage of common Pro/Toolkit functions. Subsequently this thesis narrated in detailed the method that sketched the axis main body and the keyway and created the features of revolve, chamfer and extrude. The thesisresolves the problem that the chamfers of different size can' t be created. Finally an axis was created and regarded as an example, it is proved that automatic modeling had superiority and the usability. Then the axis was made the CAE analysis and the CAM processing, the results proved this method was advantageous to CAD/CAE/CAM integration.
