The paper takes up as its major objects fly ash brick, new type fly ash dry masonry powder and masonry envelope made of fly ash dry masonry powder. By testing the compression strength, transverse strength and freeze-thaw resistance of fly ash brick as well as the density, consistence, stratification and strength of fly ash dry masonry powder mortar the conclusion is drawn that fly ash brick and dry masonry powder can well replace traditional clay brick and cement mortar in terms of property. Further research by axial center compression strength experiment made on 6 groups of masonry envelopes made of fly ash dry masonry powder with analysis of the crack producing features and deformation trend, compression strength, stress-stress change curve, elastic module and Poisson ratio of the masonry envelops make it known that masonry envelopes made of coal ash dry masonry powder fully conforms with standard design requirement and is able to improve the property of masonry envelope and satisfy requirements for construction appearance and strength. By a great deal of test and experiment, accumulation of such data and proposing initial technical standard, this research helps the application of fly ash in masonry envelops.The main objections such as:Ⅰ. Basic Property of fly AshRelatively systematic research is made into the fly ash in respect of physical, chemical and glass structures, activity and hydration reaction, revealing the mystery of application of fly ash in masonry envelops to lay down a foundation for the research of properties of masonry envelops.Ⅱ. Experimental Research of fly Ash BrickThe paper takes as its objects the representative kinds—non-fired-and-steamed natural cured brick, steam-pressed brick, fired porous gangue and ash brick and light noise absorbing and noise insulation brick with fly ash taking a high proportion of the brick materials, testing their compression strength, transverse strength and freeze-thaw resistance.The data obtained fully indicate that coal ash brick can well replace ordinary clay brick to be a new type environmental protective building material.Ⅲ. Experimental Research of fly Ash Dry Masonry PowderNew type fly Ash Dry Masonry Powder is made of residues of fly ash whose micro beads have been extracted. Based on test of its fineness, standard consistence, coagulation time, stability, water-holding ratio, sulfur anhydride, strength, etc. comparative test was made of dry masonry powder mortar and ordinary cement mortar in regard of density, consistence, stratification and strength. The result shows that Ash Dry Masonry Powder canwell replace ordinary cement mortar.IV. Experimental Research of fly Ash Dry Masonry Powder Masonry EnvelopesThe paper researches the axial center compression strength test with which ordinary clay brick and cement mortar masonry envelope, ordinary clay brick and dry powder mortar masonry envelope, fly ash non-fired non-steamed load carrying brick and dry powder mortar masonry envelope, fly ash non-fired non-steamed load carrying brick and ordinary mortar masonry envelope, ordinary porous brick and dry powder mortar masonry envelope and fly ash blind hole porous brick and dry powder mortar masonry envelope. The limit load and crack load and Vertical deformation and horizontal deformation were observed and read out. The actual data was compared with the result of calculation to find the elastic module and Poisson ratio and a stress-stress change curve was drawn.V. ConclusionThe dry powder masonry envelopes experience basically the same stress bearing course—elastic, cracking and deforming stages and basically the same deformation.Every masonry envelope made of dry powder and coal ash bricks show better crack resistance capacity. Masonry envelopes made of dry powder and clay bricks and porous bricks can also satisfy requirement of crack resistance for ordinary mortar masonry envelopes. Masonry envelope made of new type dry powder can reach the strength index for ordinary masonry envelopes and its load canying capacity is adequate while its indexes like elastic module and Poisson ratio can also satisfy the requirement of design norm.
