Submerged dike is a common offshore structure, which is widely used for bank protecting, wave defending and silt promoting engineering and etc. Although, a lot of research studies are done upon such a problem home and abroad and lots of the accomplished results are gotten. However, because there are many types of the submerged dike, it is hard to get a unifying result, in the real projects and in most cases; they will have to depend on the results of physical model experiment. Especially the research of the wave transmission and wave breaking over the submerged dike is not enough, a perfect result is expected to get for the practice in this paper.The paper studies upon the trapezoidal-type submerged dike. Through the physical model experiment, the characteristics of the wave breaker over submerged dike, breaker type and the change of wave height over the dike are analyzed under the action of regular wave. In the tests of wave transmission, several main factors are considered to know how the dike defends the waves, these factors are wave steepness (H/L), relative water depth (d/H), B/H (B is the dike crest width, H is the wave height), and a/H (a is the height from the still water level to the top of the dike). Base on the physical model experiment, it can be known how the dike defend waves under the change of those factors, and what the breaker type is, breaking position over the dike and the wave height behind the dike. |
