In thermal power plant, chimneys are indispensable and important buildings. In recent years, with the increase of the capacity of the generator set and the constant improvement of the requirement of environment protection, the high and new style chimneys are emerging constantly. The chimney is a cylindrical towering building with small diameter and complicated interior structure, so the construction technologies of the chimney are more difficult than those of the general buildings.In order to adapt the demand of the mechanized constructing, in the last few years, the technologies of hydraulic slipping-form and the electronic climbing-form were widely adopted in the towering armored concrete chimney. Whatever which kind of the methods is used, a construction platform must be set up in the course of the construction, and it must rise with the chimney. Besides its own large weight, the construction platform is loaded about 100 tons. With the constant increase of the chimney height, all these forces result complicated stress and make the point that support the beam of the construction platform move toward the center. Especially, when the construction platform is loaded asymmetrically, it will produce deformation and displacement that are difficult to be adjusted, and the vertical displacement badly endanger the construction platform.For many years, because it is very difficult and complicated to set up and calculate the mechanical model of the construction platform in three-dimensionalspace, it is always simplified as a plane stable structure in the design and calculation. The calculated results are difficult to describe the real stress state of the construction platform in the course of the construction, and it cannot be used in design and installment reliable. So it is an urgent and important subject to ensure the safety and reliability of the construction platform and to provide a reliable theoretical basis to the design and installment of it.Based on analyzing the load state of construction platform deeply, the three-dimensional mechanical model of construction platform is built by use of the commercial software ANSYS, and corresponding the XDS- III climbing-form construction platform mechanical properties are analyzed. By comparison, it can be found that the calculated results match the measured data very well. It is proved that the mechanical model of construction platform and the corresponding analysis methods are correct and effective. On the other hand, after analyzing and comparing the different loads of construction platform under different work conditions, the role and the relationship between the stress and the work conditions are found, and an optimum scheme of the construction platform is presented. The research works in this thesis provide a reliable theoretical basis to the design and installment of the construction platform. The conclusions have important applied significances.
