Recently as the lasting booming of our economy, height of building rise gradually, andthe appearance of building becomes individual. Meanwhile the promotion of concept ofenergy conservation and environmental protection make more and more construction beapplied about outer-wall external thermal insulation. This situation mentioned above raisehigher requirements for the construction machine. So the Mast Climbing Aerial WorkingPlatform is designed based on ‘the eleventh five year’ national science and technology plan. This working platform is planned to construct in tall building’ wall,Project installation, maintainance, assemble, paint and facing of building. This platform can be used both in andout of room. The platform overcomes many shortages of traditional scaffold and could worksstable with large elevating capacity. A wide working area and high safety and largeadaptability make high labor productivity. The main parameters of platform was determined by combining the other same kindimported equipments and the project’s demands together. The design of whole machine andmain components were finished by using three–dimensional design software Solidworks. Theselection of energy device and transmission were also be finished. The force of landing legs were analysed by figuring out the dangerous condition. Theresult of analysis was compared with the result caculated by software to ensure the answercorrect. And the stabilization was proved good.Build finite element model for mast climbing working platform and calculate staticanalysis through finite element software ‘ANSYS’. Adjust stiffness and stress of maincomponents and the results can be used as basis of engineering application. The size of length、thickness were optimized by the module of optimization of ANSYS.The weight was lightened under the premises of stress and a better design size was provided. The advantages of design and analysis software were applied to build the design cycle ofStructure Design—Force Analysis—Structure Optimization. The basis of theory was providedand the design cycle was shortened sufficiently.
