New Thermal Power Plant Electrical Test Methods For The Analysis And Research

Generator and transformer is main equipment in the electric power plant, which safety determines that the plant or the power system can work steadily or not. The generator-transformer protection is the main protection of the generator and transformer. The security of the power plant relies on that the testing methods on the generator-transformer protection is scientific, comprehensive and accurate or not.When the new generator unit start up , the electric test will test the character of the main equipment and the correctness of the secondary circuit . From the test the problem will be found. It is the foundation on starting up and the steady operation of the unit.This paper introduced the electric test methods on the new-built power plant, which included the regular test methods of the generator-transformer protection and the electric starting-up test.Based on the analysis and research of the methods , this paper found the problem: the short-circuit point couldn't be set on site;some faults may not be found in the circuit;the long time of the electric starting-up test led to the bad economics. The new setting methods of the short-circuit point are presented in this paper, which substitute the grounding switch for the short circuit, or combine the grounding switch and the to be the short-circuit point in the GIS station. The new methods the characteristic of the generator-transformer short-circuit, and test the direction of the differential protection. The method of adding voltage to the equipment is applied to test the circuit of the TA and TV. The test of increasing voltage from zero with busbar is put ahead to be combined with the generator no-load test, which adjusts the sequence of electric starting-up test and reduces the time of the unit staring-up.Lastly, the new test methods were applied to one new power plant, and settled the difficulty of no location to set the short-circuit point in the GIS station, adjusted the test sequence, reduced the time of the unit, and led to the better economic effect.
