The paper presents the development of switched reluctance motor drive system (SRD for short) at home and abroad, and tells the basic structure, the operational principle and the characteristic of the SRD system. Based on the analysis of SRD ideal linear model, the parameters can be gotten which influence the torque and speed of the motor. It makes the control method vary from parameter to parameter.The paper uses an 8/6 pole, 5.5KW SRM as the research object and designs the controller circuit, power circuit and control software system. The system contains the kernel with TMS320F240 and the periphery parts, which are used to fulfill the rest function in the controller circuit. By the introduction and comparison of the common power converter, the structure of the least main switchers is adopted in the power circuit. 60A/1000V IGBT, which drive circuit adopts EXB841 module, is used for the main switchers. This paper analyzes the protection part of IGBT, and makes improvement to the drive circuit of EXB841. The software is compiled and debugged with C language under the platform CC'C2000. It adopts two-closed-loop control strategy and fuzzy self-adjustable PID arithmetic.The result shows the system is reasonable and achieves the target, and the motor could operate in stable state under the use of controller, power and software.
