The electromagnetic riveting is a new mechanism joint craft. It solved many problems that the traditional riveting method can't do. For example, it can rivet such rivets as high strength and hard formation material rivet, the large diameter rivet and the rivet which is used in compound materials structure. The electromagnetic rivet can form the rivets once. The interference is uniformity and the riveted joint quality is high. At the same time, the noise of the electromagnetic riveter is also lower than the compressed-air driven riveter. At present, the electromagnetic riveting technique are already widely applied in the aerospace field overseas. Now we are explorating the engineering application of the electromagnetic. At present such problems are still dizzle us as the lower output electro- magnetic force and the higher recoil force major.The vibration isolation characteristic of the HandHeld electromagnetic riveter is analyzed and the vibration isolation system is established to suit the application environment. Each parameter's influence on the vibration isolation effect is analyzed in the environment of MatLab. And the parameters are optimized. The dynamic simulation is carried on with Simulink to confirm the stability and the feasibility of the vibration isolation system. Meanwhile, the experiment has confirmed the vibration isolation effect.Each parameter's influences on the electromagnetic riveter output rivet force is discussed based on the electromagnetic riveting principle. Finally,the relative optimized design is proposed by analysis of the structure of the electromagnetic riveter through the theory and the experiment.A new HandHeld Electromagnetic rivter was designed based on the above principle .The experiment indicated that the new electromagnetic riveter recoil's force remarkably reduces and the output rivet force also has obviously increased.
