Following the development of our country's important projects and base constructions, the question of slope stability increasingly absorbs more attention. But at this time, the conflicts between economy and security become sharper. And the advent of the unified strength theory solves this question properly. This article summarizes the research actualities of slope stability analysis method and strength theory. At the same time, the unified strength theory is applied into the research of slope stability analysis. And the contribution of the unified strength theory in geotechnic and the confirmation of real tri-axes experiments to the unified strength are summarized. This article takes the roadbed slope of Bai-Luo Freeway in K154+310 segment for example, applies the unified strength theory into the limit equilibrium method of slope, compares the safety factor obtained through computing with the parameters of the unified strength theory, and finds out the relation and the regularity between them. And the finite element method is used to work out the stress and strain of different b under the condition of simple shear. The isoline of safety ratio and the nephogram of the maximum shear strain in different instance are analyzed and compared. Finally, the slope is reinforced through deploying geo-fabric in it according the status of different parameters. And the result is compared to discuss the significance of the unified strength theory in engineering practices. The intermediate principal stress can not be ignored from the above analysis and researches. The unified strength theory reflects the characteristics of the material strength accurately, exerts the potential of materials and economizes the engineering material greatly. So the unified strength theory will arouse a new revolution of geotechnic.
