Unseating prevention device is an important component of collapse-proof system of highway bridges. Based on analyzing the reason of the seismic damages of bridges and introducing the development and present situation of unseating prevention device in the world, this paper designs the unseating prevention device which is made by steel bar or cable. On the basis of analyzing and researching the test result, construction feature and mechanical model of lead-high-rubber-damper that is exploited by us, this paper explores a type of damping-unseating prevention device composed by lead-high-rubber-damper. In this paper, depending on summarizing the practical lessons of unseating prevention devices and the study advance of damping-unseating prevention devices in the word, the author puts forward the design and calculation methodology of damping-unseating prevention device. In this paper, the time history analysis method of the program of ANSYS is used to build and analyze the finite element model of practical bridge; and the changing trends of power-wasting and restraining performance of the damping-unseating prevention device are studied, through considering the influencing factors such as the height of pier, earthquake motion and riding position. In the end, counting on an example ,the design method is illuminated. It is anticipated that this paper would have some referential value to the design, application and production of collapse-proof system, in order to accelerate its process of the practicality of unseating prevention device.
