Model-updating methods is systemic recognition modeling methods, which take advantage of theoretic modeling and experimental modeling. Using this kind of methods in modeling is very beneficial. All model-updating methods now available are classified as ordinary model-updating methods in this paper, because they are all based on Newton's differential equation. However, ordinary model-updating methods are not perfect. Above all things, they are very difficult to be applied in updating complex electro-mechanical systems' models that are very common in current engineering field. Therefore, we need a new type of model-updating methods to overcome the limitation of ordinary model-updating methods.Bond graph is a new method of modeling and simulation based on transformation of power and conversation of energy. In virtue of theory and technique of bond graph, a new sort of model-updating method based on bond graph is put forward in this paper to overcome the insufficiencies of ordinary model-updating methods. This new method can effectively update models of electrical systems, hydraulic systems and multi-energy domain coupling systems, and it can achieves satisfactory precision in model-updating.Taking advantage of modal analysis theory based on power bond graph, two kinds of model-updating method are put forward in this paper, the first one updates mathematical model's coefficient matrix, the second one updates design original parameters of system. Further more, there are some calculation examples for each model-updating method and a practical complex engineering system's model-updating to demonstrate the validity of method brought forward in this paper.
