Landslides are the common geological hazards in our country, which can break the traffic, jam rivers, bury villages, destroy factories, and do great harm to the people's lives and properties. The Landslides monitoring and predication is the main method avoiding from the landslides hazards. At present, the surface deformation monitoring has been most widely used in the landslide monitoring, but there are many shortcomings such as expensive instruments, specialization demanding, high cost of monitoring, heavy indoor workload in the geodetic surveying, embedded instrument observation, GPS, close range photography method.Digital Image Measurement is a new deformation measuring technology that we can get data from the image acquisition devices and get the deformation value of the object by image analyzing in the computer. This method has many advantages such as speedy, safety, abundant information, synchronous multipoint measurement, safe storage and so on, compared with the traditional deformation measurement methods.Aimed at the existed problems above, a new deformation monitoring method is presented in this paper, with which the slope deformation value at any time can be obtained from the crack image with Digital Image Analysis; then, a Slope Deformation Information Database is established in order to manage and analyze a good many of monitoring data of the slope deformation effectively; in the end, four landslide prediction and forecast models are set up, with which the slope deformation value in the future and the slope failure time can be predicted and forecasted.According to the disquisitive idea above, The details of the study are as follows: Firstly, aimed at the peculiarity of the slope image, on the base of Digital Photography and Digital Image Analysis, the Slope Deformation Image Measurement technology is proposed, and the routine is built with Matlab accordingly. Then the new technology is applied in the slope excavation model experiment, during which the applicability of the technology is validated, the process of the model failure is analyzed, and the influential factors of the measurement result are discussed; Secondly, the system design and the database design are made and the key techniques of the database are discussed. The Slope Deformation Information Database is set up with Microsoft Access 2000 on the base of the slope excavation model experiment data, and the database application is built accordingly with Delphi language, with which the image date and deformation...
