The slope engineering is a rock and engineering item of seeing anywhere and high risk. The safeties of human being's lives and possessions are relative to the steady status of slopes, and sometimes even the development of the economy and society of the whole nation. The slope engineering is commonly classified into the rock slope and the soil slope. The rock fall is one of familiar types in rock slope. Although based on the damage scale, the rock fall disaster belongs to local failure, it's hazarders cannot be ignored. Landslides monitoring and predication is the main method avoiding from the landslides hazards.The destabilization of the rock slope has mutability, so it can not use the creeping theory of the soil slope forecasting, and the premonition of the rock slope presents insufficiently before the landslide. Now the premonition of the rock slope has not visibility techniques. Digital Image Measurement is a new deformation measuring technology that we can get data from the image acquisition devices and get the deformation value of the object by image analyzing in the computer. This method has many advantages such as speedy, safety, abundant information, synchronous multipoint measurement, safe storage and so on, compared with the traditional deformation measurement methods.Aimed at the existed problems above, Firstly, aimed at the peculiarity of the slope rock image, on the base of Digital Photography and Digital Image Analysis, a new deformation monitoring method is presented in this paper, and the routine is built with Matlab accordingly, then the Slope Deformation Image Measurement technology is proposed. Then the new technology is applied in the indoor slope excavation model experiment, during which the applicability of the technology is validated for monitoring the rock landslide; Secondly, based the on failure process of the landslide, the details study on the influencing factor of the Slope Deformation Image Measurement technology, then the method of the multiple-point monitoring object is obtained; Thirdly, according to Yellow River bedrock's running, the research develops the corresponding automatism forecasting procedure. To examine the results, the destabilizing processing of the bedrock was record and treated by the previous program and the indoors model experiments. The results proved that the digital image processing can be used to the management of the bedrock of yellow river, and also proved it had many advantages such as economical efficiency, advanced technology, convenience,utility and labors saving.
