The environmental protection is the basic policy of our state. With the development of the national economy and the increasement of the national consciousness of environmental protection, the requirement for the atmospheric quality is more and more high. At present, the sulfur dioxide pollution in the atmospheric environment is one of the serious environmental problems which human beings suffer. The thermal power plants with coal material are main emission sources which release sulfur dioxide. Therefore, It is essential to carry out the flue gas desulfurization in the thermal power plants.At present, the wet process (limestone/gypsum method) of the desulfurizational technology is mainly accepted in the flue gas desulfurization of the large thermal power. The absorber tower is the main building in the desulfurizational technology system, which is steel structure with the properties of large diameter and thin wall and cylindrical shell. According to the chimney on the top, the absorber tower may have two kinds of outlines: low tower (the upper part without chimney) and high tower (the upper part with chimney).There is not any specific standard concerning the design of the absorber tower. Therefore, the absorber tower design mainly refers to storage tank class, the tower system vessel class standard. At present, the main questions which exist in the absorber tower structure design are: (1) How to confirm the structural natural vibration period in wind load calculation. (2) How to think about the partial responses and the influence of the partial responses on the absorber tower structure in earthquake load calculation. (3) How to calculate the stabilization stress of the wall panel in the design of the tower wall thickness. One of the main methods to solve the above problems is to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the absorber tower structure.In this paper, I study the dynamic characteristics of the absorber tower structure associating with practical project (two kinds of typical absorber tower structure). The main research contents contain: by analyzing the common absorber tower structure in practical projects, I suppose the analytic object of the absorber tower, which deals with two kinds of typical absorber towers.
