This paper is to show the development of automatization of substation in our country by introducing the appearing order of system model and the classification of structure form. At present, automatic system tends to distribute and stratify according to object design. In Liupanshui, the 80% of electricity-power bureaus with voltage of 110kV or less than 110Kv are automatic. With the development of technology and the higher requirement of running of substations, there are some weak points and inconvenience in the usage. Therefore, by analyzing the ways of their protection, direction of movement and correspondence, as well as by a lot of materials and literature. I try to make theory identified with practice, and then have designed 90% of them. I also find some questions existing in this kind of substations. The following reasons should respond to those questions: equipment, inconsiderate method by designer, the restricted technology at present, etc. In the long term, I put forward some solutions. First, people should follow closely the development of science and technology, and focus on the application of digital instrument-transformer, then essentially solve the "battle-neck" of digital substation. Besides, people should actively use the products from factories qualified by IEC61850 and improve the level of security and firm operation. Lastly, in order to follow the tendency of automatic substation development - to change present poor condition of corresponding method of substations and use fiber correspondence, etc. This essay is also to offer help to understand this kind of substations and reference for colleagues to equip, design and regulate those substations.
