The voltage is related with reactive power closely, the reactive power is the significant factor in affecting the voltage value, as well, reactive power is the significant reason of the network power loss. So balancing the reactive power locally in different layer and partition is the key method to reduce the network power loss and ensure the voltage qualified.The voltage and reactive power synthetic control is for the purpose of improving the security and economic benefit of the whole network, it utilizes all kinds of reactive power compensating equipment and voltage regulating equipment fully and reasonably, and coordinates their operation in order to ensure the voltage quality and reduce the network power loss, while reserving abundant reactive power margin for urgent accident to keep the security and stability of the power system. So, the substations in different level of power system take a heavy task on regulating the voltage and reactive power.
