The pressure regulating valve is the key element in pneumatic system. It is widely applied to industrial fields and has wide developing space in war industry. In recent years, SMC and FESTO AG & Co. have studied and produced the electro-pneumatic proportional pressure valve one after the other. It is the electro-mechanical product applying microelectronics to pneumatic system. And it achieves conversion from the electrical-signal to the pneumatic-signal. At present, the precise valve used in China has to be imported and is very expensive. Therefore, it is very urgent to develop the pneumatic proportional valve with the patent of our country. And the significance in economy and stratagem is great. So, the electro-pneumatic proportional pressure valve is designed in this paper.Firstly, the mechanical structure, electro-circuit structure and working principle of the electro-pneumatic proportional pressure valve are introduced in the paper. The pressure regulating valve is composed of the high speed on-off valve, miniature pressure sensor and MCU as the pilot adjusting-pressure valve. The control circuit, in which the core is MCU, drives the inlet valve or the outlet valve according to the deviations between the input signal and the sensor signal. The inlet or outlet valve driven by the electromagnetic force regulates the pilot pressure continuously. When the deviations equals to zero, two valves are all shut off, and the spool in main valve reaches the balance at the new position. So the output pressure is proportional to the input signal.Secondly, in the control respect, this subject adopts two bits PID pulse width modulate mode. The theory is that the result calculated with the PID is treated as the input signal of the PWM; the PWM has the fixed cycle (30ms) and the adjustable duty ratio, which is used to control the open of on-off valve in order to adjust pressure continuously.
