Making advantage of the remote network system, the technology of remote fault monitor , predict and diagnoses monitors and testes the running dataes of on site equipment at another place. It can predict and diagnose the fault according to the test data. It is also an integrated technology which includes the computer network, information gather and expert system.Reefer containers transportation developed rapidly with the development of the economy, but what make the transporter feel keenly headache is the number of the case about the cargo loss claim has been increasing. So it is necessary to develop a fault diagnostics system based on information technology. When this system is used on board ship, it also can decrease the workload of the crew.This dissertation begins with the concept of remote fault monitor, forecast and diagnoses system(RFMFDS) and then introduce the basic frame of CRFMPDS. Thirdly, Based on the fault reports and repair reports on board, the author find out that the fault from the compressor of the refrigerating unit is the most serious fault. In the forth part, through the analysis of fault diagnose method, the author introduce the diagnostics system of fault based on the neural network, then analyze its principle and construction. Fifthly, the author introduces the basic frame of the diagnostic system of fault based on the neural network which includes two parts, onsite diagnose and remote diagnose. At last the author develops the fault example through the experiment and lots of documents. Then, according to the test data above, the author develop the fault diagnosing system of reefer containers based on neural network with Visual Basic language. The software can monitor the data of the refrigeration system and predict the fault. The user can also find out the way to solve the fault by inquiring the software when the fault comes out.If the LAN is set up on ocean-going ship and this software is Installed in the local computer .This software can monitor the data of reefer container and forecast the fault. When the fault happens, the engineer on board can carry on the treatment according to guidance on the software. Because the time of the study is limited, the parameter sample and fault sample collected are not perfect.
