Friction rubber draft gear, as one of high-capacity draft gears, is developed after friction steel spring draft gear. Rubber has energy absorption capability and non-linear rigidity capability, so the friction rubber draft gear's capacity is usually higher than the friction steel spring bumper. So far, a larger of rubber draft gear is designed by the superelasticity data attained from people's experiences and some experiments, however, these data have some big differences from the rubber's actual viscoelastic properties.The fundamental physic parameters of rubber are researched in this paper. Firstly, it presents a new numerical method in the way the one-dimensional viscoelastic constitutive parameters of rubber can be easily confirmed through simple electrostatic experiment. Secondly, according to the physic meaning of the elastic mortar relaxation modulus, it here creates a one-dimensional viscoelastic constitutive model. At last, the fundamental viscoelastic parameters are calculated according to the data of the electrostatic experiment and a three-element solid inversion model.Draft gear is used to reduce the bump between the vehicles when the train runs or shunts, whose form of load is mainly impact load, and as for viscoelastic material such as the rubber, whose stress is not only relate to strain but also relate to the time, so under the action of impact load, the viscoelastic material's capabilities is very different from the common elastic material. So, rubber's viscoelastic characters are researched by the characteristic nomography method in this article, when the stress wave transmits in rubber. And we get the stress'arithmetic solution and strain's arithmetic solution of any place of rubber parts at any time under the action of impact load.
