Excitation system is an important part of synchronous generator ,it directly effects the running characteristics of the generator and power system .On the basis of deeply studying the working principle and the specific property of varies excitation systems, this article analyses and points out the majoy problems of the excitation systems of synchronous generator made in china that the power are no more than 50MW ,emphatically studying the reform technique plan of the turbine gennertor that the power no more than 50MW with the self-shunt excitation mode ,analyses the software and hardware system constructure of self-shunt excitation. Produced the detaitiled project t of main circuit, excitation circuit and demaynetization circuit ect. Through the generator system property test, the result indicat that reformed generator system has marbed superiority on voltage regulating ,the influence to power system staic stabiling,pransient stabiling ect.The project that this article produced has been used in the actual production .The relevart products have been put in running ,it will produce fine society and economy benefit.
