Modern high performance aircraft needs more advanced fight control system, while it is more difficult to design these systems by using the classical control theory only. To obtain the better flight qualities, many modern control methods are applied in the design of aircraft flight control systems. In this paper, flight control systems are designed via eigenstructure assignment method.The main works of the paper are given as follows:How to apply the eigenstructure assignment method in flight control systems successfully is studied. The design step of eigenstructure assignment method is given. Some aircraft modes, such as attitude hold, altitude hold, automatic landing, turn coordination, heading hold and lateral bias modification are designed and simulated.This paper designs control law software based on eigenstructure assignment by using GUI toolbox of Matlab. It contains lateral and longitudinal flight control laws, which include 4 lateral flight modes and 4 longitudinal flight modes. It can give perfect eigenstructure of closed loop system automatically, and display simulation results with graphs. Also it allows users to appoint the input signal. It makes the controller designing via eigenstructure assignment more convenient.
