The author discussed the concept, background and characteristic of experience economy, and the approaching of era of experience economy. Under the whole background of experience economy, author analyzed historical background, present situation and deficiency, and future development of the research on domestic and overseas Public Urban Street Furniture(PUSF). The domestic PUSF was lack of affinity and attraction, disharmonic with the environment, and so on. For the reason to solve those questions, author expounded it was important and necessary to apply experience design (ED) in the designing of PUSF.According to the theory of experience economy, the author induced and analyzed the types and influence factors of ED of PUSF, pointed that ED takes the communal space as the stage, takes the communal environment facilities as the property, and gives the user valuable and unforgettable experience feeling. Its goal is user's participation, happy recollection and life experience, which are important contents of the whole design, and also are the criteria to test the quality of the design. The author discussed the characters of ED of PUSF, and put more emphases on analyzing the common methods and process. In the end, the author made analysis with respect of examples and sums up the development trend of ED of PUSF.As a brand-new economic form, the approaching of experience economy focuses ED on the design field. But until now, ED is not come into being the mature theory. Also the design of PUSF is a relative newer topic in China, therefore the application of ED in the PUSF are mostly subconscious and lack of systemic theory basis and instruction. Here the author's research ED of PUSF is only a glancing attempt to supply some theory and reference for ED of PUSF through the compilation and analysis of data.
